Every animal was baffled knowing that the greedy pigs were the sneaky milk and apple thieves. Until Squealer stepped up to restrain the feud, saying that the pigs did it for the sake of the farm.He suggested the pigs deserve it for all the work it takes to be leaders. The animals believed all the pigs were being greedy and stingy for taking the food. Squealer uses rhetorical appeal in his speech to manipulate the animals into believing that the pigs need to eat the apples and drink the milk. Throughout Squealer's speech, he lies to the animals convincing them that the pigs are helping the welfare of the farm.
