Carrying concealed guns can save many lives. Living in a country where crime is prevalent would have people want to feel a sense of security by owning a gun. Lott states” Owners of concealed carry state that criminals are less likely to attack someone they believe to be armed”. The 2nd Amendment's "right of the people to keep and bear arms," guarantees us this right. “Adults who legally carry a concealed gun are law-abiding and do not misuse their firearms” assures Lott. Concealed handguns protect people who cannot always rely on police forces for protection.It is a constitutional right to bear arms; therefore, this cannot be denied. Carrying a concealed handgun in public is permitted in all 50 states as of 2013, when Illinois became the last state to enact concealed carry legislation. The U.S Constitution states "right of the people to keep and bear arms,"(Doherty 1). This is the 2nd Amendment to the Bill of Rights that are guaranteed by the Constitution. Since all states must follow the Constitution this right could not be denied.On Dec. 11, 2012 case Moore v. Madigan, ruled 2-1 that the Second Amendment's right to bear arms "must be interpreted to include a right to have a concealed gun in public, to have it ready for use, and to have it for self-defense."(2).This will …show more content…

Federal agents and police can only do so much to keep U.S. citizens safe. That’s why it is up for the people of the United States to also protect each other and stop criminals from hurting someone
