Curiosity will conquer fear even more than bravery will(James Stephens). Has your curiosity ever conquered your fear? Has any of those moments happened because of love? The theme of the fictional story "Rikki Tikki Tavi" by Rudyard Kipling is you can put yourself into dangerous situations because of love. Rikki-tikki is a courageous character in this story. In the story, Rikki-tikki fights karait even though he could of died(para.33). In the story, despite the danger of Karait bite him, Rikki-tikki still attacks to protect teddy. Rikki-tikki thinks of teddy like family and would do anything to keep him safe despite the danger. It shows how loyal Rikk-tikki is when he fights Nag instead of running(56). This proves that Rikki-tikki would stay and no run when danger threatens one he considers family. One example of Nagaina’s intelligence that she tells Nag to kill Teddy’s father first because he is the biggest threat(para.51). This implies that Nagaina is smart enough to knock out the biggest threat to her and Nag. A similarity between Rikki-tikki and Nagaina is that they both plan a little ways ahead to protect the ones they love. What’s more is she distracts Rikki-tikki with the fight to get her egg back(para.96). This shows that she can think on her feet when a situation she didn’t plan for comes up.
