A major social problem in Rio de Janeiro is police and military corruption. “Favela” it is a poor área in some cities of Brasil, especially in Rio de Janeiro. In this peculiar city, it may has more than a thousand favelas. Half of them are dominated by the drug gangs, 45% by the milícia and 5% by the Pacifying Police Units. When its about the drug gangs, they may have a “little help” from the corrupts polices.

Poor education, lack of Money and lack of vision for the future. This three things are the main reasons to lead a men selling drugs. Ironically, on account of the same motivations, some police men in Brazil goes to the same way. As a consequence of all this, the polices go to the favelas and do an agrément with the drug dealers. Once they are agreed, they recive Money to dont do anithing and let the drugers do their “job”.

In the other hand, some favelas are comanded by the milícias. Their principal reason is Money. This people are groups of criminals formed of policemen, firemen, guards military personnel and others. The phenomenon is comanded by public security officers, politicians, and even community leader. Controling the services and charging taxes, they claim to offer security to their people, but theyre control the área in the same way as the drug dealers, with violence.
