The Rise of Islam in Iran During the reign of the Sasanian Empire, Iran was taken over by the Muslim conquest of Persia, also known as Iran, from 642 to 651. The rise of Islam in Iran was fast paced, because of the significant military and political weakness in Persia. The most popular sect of Islam in Iran was the Shi’a Muslim, which today Iran is the center point of the Shi’ite faith. The Shi’ite sect of Islam would have remained unknown and politically insignificant, if the Arabs hadn’t invaded Iran and converted them to Islam (IWB). The diffusion of Islam in Iran changed the religious, cultural, and social life of the Iranian world forever. The spread of Islam to Iran was due to a hierarchical expansion diffusion. The Sasanian Empire was put through so much warfare that, at the end of the Muslim conquest of Persia, their empire fell apart. Then Iran was wide open to invaders because of the fall of the Sasanian Empire. In 651, the resistance in Iran crumbled, and was then taken over by the Arab Muslims. The Muslims had religious tolerance and fair treatment to Iran, because they surrendered without resistance. Iran had switched from a Christian and Jewish controlled nation to a nation that practices Islam. They have acted like savages from the 600s to present day. They constantly commit evil acts and support terrorists to this day. The religion of Islam has taken over this country and is now controlled by a corrupt government and a has an awful society.
