The rite of passage that is most significant to from the “The Medicine Bag” is family tradition. I chose “The Medicine Bag” because you can learn a lot of life lessons from this story There are many parts in the medicine bag that demonstrate this rite of passage.

My first reason is when grandpa first said hello to his granddaughter. Grandpa greeted her by saying “Hau, Takoza, Grandchild,”. I think this is a good example of family tradition because it demonstrates how grandpa and is ancestors talked. Grandpa is an indian so it is tradition for the way he talks to people, but now his descendants don’t carry on that tradition. I believe one reason grandpa talked this was is because he wants to keep that tradition alive.
