Rize Response The documentary, Rize has been an eye opener. In our current society, many students take education for granted because they do not understand the importance of going to college. If they take college lightly, they are sure to regret it in the future. However, many other students do understand the importance of going to college and will put in effort to graduate. Then, there is me. I do believe that college will greatly impact my future, but it is only one factor out of many. Since I have the opportunity to attend college, I will take this chance and make the most out of it. What I got from Rize is to build a strong character and make the best out of what I have. If I am able to attend college, I will make the best out of college. If not, then I will make the best out of what I have. The young people in Rize are victims of gang violence and crime. Yet, they are able to make the best out of what they have. Rize has encouraged me to take advantage of every opportunity that I have because I am fortunate enough to have these opportunities. If I was in the same shoes as the young people in Rize, I do not know if I would have taken the same path as they did. Like them, I am in a similar boat. The only difference is I do not know where I should go. The first goal for me is to graduate from college and get a job. The problem with this goal is that I do not know what job is most suited for me. Currently, I have selected a major based on my hobbies. But, is this really the right choice? These types of questions are what I always think about. After watching Rize, I decided to rethink about my future. Instead of picking a major on a whim, maybe I should do some research and figure out exactly what I am going to
