To begin, these business leaders are considered Robber Barons because they created monopolies. According to an article by Bob Frost “Rockefeller’s oil company, invested a small fortune into political bribery,” (Doc. H). This reveals that Rockefeller is bribing costumers to buy their oil for a lower price, putting his competition out of business and creating a monopoly. Also, according to a political cartoon, the monopolies had so much power from their growing industries they able to overthrow the senate so that the people did not have a say anymore only the monopolies did.
