Road to Success The American dream a picture of success full of sacrificing moments. The American dream is to live a life with no worries, on how you're going to make up that extra money to provide for basic necessities but having that extra money to spend on whatever you desire. Being the boss and having the job you've always dreamed and you enjoy it. The American dream is having an education, and create a title for yourself, also having time for your hobbies and enjoy life.The American Dream is still alive, and reachable for some but not for others. Most people aren't born with citizenship, which limits the doors that can be opened. Some don't have the priorities that other people do.“Europe and America”, a poem written by David Ignatow, tells about the different lives the…show more content… Thus,between my father who lives on a bed of anguish for his daily bread,.”(Ignatow 66) This quote shows how the life of an immigrant is much more different than a person that has the opportunity to be here in America. In the interview “Robert Acuna Talks About Farm Workers from working”, by Studs Terkel tells about how unfair immigrant workers are treated because they never had a saying in situations because they were undocumented.“But something-I don't know-I was close to the workers. They couldn't speak English and wanted me to be their spokesman in favor of going on strike. I don't know-I just got caught with it all, the beautiful feeling of solidarity.”(Terkel page #76)This quote shows how the workers were being treated unjust but couldn't do anything about it because they didn't speak english and were scared of the consequences. People today in days are treated unfairly with very little support and benefits that comes with their difficult jobs. Many ignorant people think that just because they aren't citizens it doesn't matter how they feel. Being an immigrant limits the things you can do for yourself, people are
