The Robert Taylor Homes has a diverse group of residents who are confronted with difficult hardships. Some of the residents that have lived at the Robert Taylor Homes for forty to fifty years, knows other residents that live there too. The residents living at the Robert Taylor Homes have to endure not getting their mail on a daily basis, witness violent crimes being inflicted on others, and live in undesirable conditions, such as having cracked pipes in their home. The residents living in this community are mostly African Americans, and they are living in poverty at the Robert Taylor Homes. Some of these reasons can be because tenants did not pay their rent on time, they are disruptive to their neighbors, or their building is being demolished due to the fact that commercial buildings have to be built on that site. I was unaware of the process or emotional aspect, people who are expelled from their homes, have to endure. In order to bring awareness to this emotional impact, being evicted from a home can cause, I would turn to social media. I would start a Facebook or Twitter account, with pictures and videos featuring people being evicted from their homes, in order to get the attention of news stations. I would want news stations, such as Cables News Network and NY1 to mention my cause on the air or on their websites. The more people that understand the cause I am trying to bring awareness to, the more help I will receive in fulfilling my mission. I would also want people who work for a particular housing authority, in that area, to come to the homes of these residents being forced out. The people working for the housing authority should see and understand the environment that these people are living in, but most importantly they must answer any questions these residents may have. The fact that numerous people are being evicted from their homes, without a plan or information as to where they could live, can be terrifying. It is our job to provide awareness
