Throughout my life, I have obtained the blessing to volunteer at many places that range from my hometown, Apple Valley, to beautiful Orange County. I had the pleasure to volunteer at my school’s events, which include the Fairtrade Fashion Show and the 5K Run for Mercy. Furthermore outside of school, I volunteered at the Rock Conference Kids Service, which is the community service I am going to focus on for the essay. Volunteering at the Rock Conference Kids Service helped me receive a new experience I have never received before. I am very pleased with myself for signing up to help a church that was seeking extra help. It is an unforgettable experience that I will carry on.
Rock Conference Kids Service is an annual event for the Anaheim Foursquare Church, which is also known as The Rock. According to The Rock on the “Get Connected” website, “[They are] a multi-campus, multi-language church with 19 congregations in Southern California, Michigan and Missouri. As the stated on the “Get Connected website”, “[They are] a multi-campus, multi-language church”. For the particular event, the statement is still true, but, from my understanding, they focus more on the parents. They speak to the parents about their kids and how to continue to develop and help them. When churches focus on kids, they mostly focus on the parents due to the reason they are vital to their development and growth. The parents ranged from many different ages and races. The church did not discriminate anyone, but instead, they welcomed them. When I showed up, they were very helpful and took me in very fast to set me up.
