Intro
In Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby magic plays an important role; bringing out the romance in two characters and signifying changes in that relationship.
Gatsby wasn’t always rich, but his desire to have daisy inspired him to gain money and create a life for himself as per the american dream. he got a giant sum of money, being a bootlegger and stock scammer, but he got his wish. He met the posh girl again and fell right back in love. Gatsby got this money to be with her, she was the kind that married for money, she wanted money and him being a poor boy in the army, he had none.
The great Gatsby almost sounds like the name of a magician. Great was also often used to describe something large, If you were anything great, you had a large sum of wealth. But I think here great refers to the fact that he did all this for one girl. This is getting all the money and following the american dream. The American dream is saying that in america, you will be able to find so much wealth and work, and have a nice relationship with somebody and basically be the happiest person you can be. The

She is beautiful and very fancy with her clothing and speech. She often looks down on those poorer than her. She slowly falls in love with Gatsby, they reunite and become friends, and get even closer to each other. As daisy is not content with her current husband, often calling him a beast, she shuts down the american dream of always being happy with your lover. It is supposed to offer something great for your relationship but it seems in everyones case (Cept nick cuz he gets teh booty). Daisy often seems like she has something oon her mind, Something primal. maybe a hunger for lust. She seemst o be very interested in Gatsby at first. One important scene is when Gatsby throws his shirts down at her. She starts to cry and it seems Gatsby has broken town an important relationship barrier with her. Almost as if she is finally in love with
