In the book Fahrenheit 451 the readers are introduced to a fireman whose name is Guy Montag. The readers are able to witness Montag’s big transformation. The readers also met the people who were against Montag, and the people who were for him through it all.
In part one of Fahrenheit 451, the readers are introduced to the main character , Guy Montag. Montag played a major role in his society. He was a firefighter. Back in the society that they lived in firefighters started fires in the homes of people who had books in them. One night after work Montag was walking home when he met a young beautiful girl named Clarisse. Montag began telling Clarisse about his job. Clarisse doesn’t agree with Montag’s job. The call was for a lady who refused to give her books to the firemen. The lady in the home stated, “I can't go on without my books”, she basically was planning on committing suicide. While all of this was going on Montag decided to take a book from the lady's home. That was strictly forbidden, Montag is a firefighter and if he were to get caught with those books he would get in serious trouble. Captain Beatty eventually found out about this and told Montag, “I would hate to think you were coming down with another fever”. This demonstrates how Montag is beginning to change as an individual in the society that he lives in.
Montag goes through many different challenges throughout his big transformation. Montag almost got arrested and killed. Montag also framed fireman black, “... placed a stack of books in Fireman Blacks home to frame him”. Towards the end of part three, Faber is helping Montag escape from the police, “cover yourself with liquor to get rid of the smell”. Montag was able to escape successfully.
