I went to the Schermerhorn Symphony Center on Friday November 6th. I went and saw Bruckner's Romantic Symphony. The symphony was apart of the Aegis Sciences Classical series which was conducted by Giancarlo Guerrero. I invited my grandparents to go with me because I was hoping that atleast they would enjoy the performance. Little did I know i would enjoy it way more than they did. It started at 8pm that night. While we were waiting all the different instruments were out and rehearsing. It sounded like a huge failure. Then the first chair came out and everyone clapped. Then the conductor and the organist came out. The organist started off the performance. I figured it would be very boring. I imagined that there would be tons of fancy people who just went there to show that they all had money. I was entirely wrong. It was actually a pretty good show. Hearing it performed in person is way more interesting than listening to it over a speaker. You could literally feel the music resonating inside of your body. The people there weren’t too bad either. It definitely wasn’t what I thought it was going to be. I would love to go back to the symphony soon. The performance was being recorded for a surprise that they said they were going to be announcing later. This made it rather difficult for the audience to engage with the orchestra. There were times that we all were going to stand and clap and then we would have to sit back down. We couldn’t express how we felt about the piece until the very end. The whole place had to be utterly silent. While this isn;t a bad thing, it sure did make it feel very awkward the whole time. That’s probably the worst part of the whole thing. That was obviously out of the orchestra’s control so I can’t blame them, but
