Romanticism began in a period of time between the 18th and the Mid-19th centuries and it was brought upon by the start of the Industrial Revolution. The suffering brought along by the revolution caused many homes to be torn apart and the loss of income for thousands of people as the richer classes who previously invested in hand-made crafts now funded larger machine based companies. The ignorance and rapidity of the Industrial Revolution sparked rebellion and despair in the hearts of many. These many men and women expressed their concern for the world by using their artistic qualities and forming the movement of Romanticism which rebelled against the progression of man and wished society would return to the peace of Nature and god.
