In the story of Romeo and Juliet, conflicts arise which leads us to the question; which is stronger, love or hate? The Capulets and Montagues of Verona had been in the midst of a family feud for longer than anyone could remember. Hate drives them all apart, even the servants are disgusted when they spot a servant from the opposing family. Even this won’t keep Romeo from Juliet or Juliet from Romeo. Their love for each other was unconditional from the moment they laid eyes on one another at the Capulet’s dinner party. By the end of the story, they both tragically died out of distress from their loss of one another. No family hatred could have ever even come close to stopping them from continuing to see each other. This shows us the power of love and how it can overcome the power of hate.

Ever since they had met, they made many sacrifices for each other and received the same thing in return. This can be shown when Juliet says, “My bounty is as boundless as the sea, my love as deep; the more I give to thee, the more I have,” This explains how they both gave everything to each other even if they had to make sacrifices. It may be said that the Montagues and Capulets hate for one another was far stronger than Romeo and Juliet's love could have ever been. Although this could make sense, it does not include the fact that the death of Romeo and Juliet brought the two families together, and love brought death upon Romeo and Juliet. This can be proven by when Capulet says,”As rich shall Romeo’s by his lady’s lie- Poor sacrifices of our enmity!” This shows how he is willing to be helpful to the opposing family and put their hatred aside. Therefore, no power had been strong enough to bring them together until love
