“Whose misadventured piteous overthrows,” (Shakespeare 1.Prologue.7) refers to Romeo and Juliet’s untimely death due to a series of unfortunate events, which ends the feud between the families. Misunderstandings can lead to the demise of many, and it only takes one misadventure to steal the life away from multiple people. Misunderstandings and destiny take the seemingly perfect love story and turns it awry. In the tragedy, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, misunderstandings fuel the irony when Capulet and Lady Capulet misinterpret Juliet’s reason not to marry, Paris misunderstands Juliet’s vague responses, and Romeo’s belief that Juliet is dead. First, the parents of Juliet misinterpret Juliet’s indefinite explanations to them about why she does not want to marry Paris. Juliet gives a very convoluted explanation of how she does not want Paris, but she is thankful that Capulet took the time to set it up and she will never be proud of her hate, but she will be thankful because it is done out of love. Capulet responds with, “How, how, how, how? Chopped logic. What is this?” (Shakespeare 3.5.149) showing Capulet’s confusion, which makes him even more infuriated, thinking that she just wants to confuse him. Capulet is now more compelled to push through with the marriage and Lady Capulet takes his side saying, “Fie, fie! What, are you mad?” (Shakespeare 3.5.159) showing her …show more content…
Juliet is to blame for two of the incidences because she is always too vague and unclear, which compelled the two parties to push her to marry, which then impels her to go through with Friar’s plan. Friar Laurence is also a person to blame for not going straight to Romeo, and sending a letter, which anyone can foresee something bad to occur. There are too many misunderstanding to stop the deaths from occurring and the “star-crossed” lovers’ stars are
