Tybalt kills Mercutio and Romeo kills Tybalt. All of these events lead up to the tragedy that is Romeo and Juliet. In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet Benvolio and Nurse should be pardoned, while Lord Capulet should be punished.
First of all Benvolio should be pardoned. He should be pardoned because he is a peacemaker. This is because in the story he stops the servants and, Tybalt and Mercutio from fighting. Benvolio did this because he says “Put up your swords for you know not what they do.”(1.4.55) and he also says “I do but keep the peace; put up thy sword, Or manage it to part with me these men.”(1.1.58-59) Another reason Benvolio should be pardoned is because he is honest with the prince. In the story he is honest with the Prince by telling him the circumstances around the fight. This proves that he is honest because he could have lied to save Romeo. The last reason he should be pardoned is because he is helpful. Benvolio is helpful in the story by telling the Prince who and why the servants, and Tybalt and Mercutio were fighting. He

He should be punished because he shows no remorse in the story. This is because in the story he shows that he doesn’t care that he was yelling at and telling Juliet she couldn’t make a decision by herself by forcing her to marry Count Paris even though she doesn’t want to. Another reason why Lord capulet should be punished is, he is abusive. In the story he is abusive by yelling at and demeaning Juliet about marrying Count Paris and saying “But fettle your fine joints 'gainst Thursday next To go with Paris to Saint Peter’s Church, Or I will drag thee on a hurdle thither. Out, you green sickness, carrion! Out, you baggage!”(3.5.53-57. The last reason Lord Capulet should be punished is because he is neglective. The story shows that he is neglective because Juliet says she doesn’t want to marry Count Paris, but Lord Capulet doesn't care about her opinion and Forces her to “Marry” Count
