Act 1, Scene 1 ­ Montagues and Capulets fight in the street, which is ended with threat by
Prince Escalus. Romeo is questioned by Benvolio about his love for Rosaline. Act 1, Scene 2 ­ Capulet invites Paris to the party, in which Paris wants to marry Juliet. A servant is sent to send the invitations for the party, and gets help from Romeo and Benvolio to read the list, and they decide to crash the party because Rosaline is attending. Act 1, Scene 3 ­ Lady Capulet tells Juliet that Paris has asked her to marry him. Juliet has never considered marriage, but will consider Paris as a possibility for her parents. Act 1, Scene 4 ­ Romeo and his friends go to the party wearing disguises. Romeo is anxious about the dream he had and Mercutio makes a mock of him with a speech. Act 1, Scene 5 ­ Romeo and his friend get in the party without getting caught. Romeo scans in a room eyeing a beautiful girl. Tybalt overhears Romeo talking about how beautiful a girl he saw was. Romeo then meets a girl named Juliet and instantly falls in love with her. Not until they part ways do they realize that their families are enemies. Act 2, Scene 1 ­ Romeo finds himself so love with Juliet, that he cannot leave her alone. He climbs the Capulet's walls and enters the garden meanwhile Benvolio and Mercutio look for him. Act 2, Scene 2 ­ While in the Capulet's garden Romeo overhears Juliet talk about how much she has falling in love with him and he answers her, they knowledge to love to each other and decide they want to get married. Act 2 Scene 3 ­ Romeo wanting to marry Juliet as soon as possible, he hurry to Friar
Lawrence. Friar Lawrence agrees to marry the two, in hopes that the marriage will end the war between the two families. Act 2 Scenes 4 ­ Mercutio and Benvolio meet Romeo who seems very happy. Romeo defeats
Mercutio in a battle of wits, the nurse finds Romeo and gives him a message from Julia that wants him to meet her at Friar Lawrences' in the afternoon where they will get married. Act 2 Scene 5 ­ Juliet waiting patiently for the nurse to return. Her impatience grows when the nurse return, slow to deliver to Romeo's message Juliet finally learns that she will marry
Romeo in the afternoon. Act 2 Scene 6 ­ Juliet meets Romeo at Friar Lawrence’s, after expressing their love they go to the Friar to get married Act 3 Scene 1­ Mercutio and Benvolio bring Tybalt out on to the street and when Romeo gets there Tybalt tries to start a fright with him. Romeo refuses to fight so Mercutio volunteers

himself for the fight. In the fight Mercutio dies and Romeo avenges his friends death by killing
Tybalt. Benvolio tries to explain to the Prince that Romeo paid Tybalt’s life for Mercurio’s but the Prince still banished Romeo. Act 3 Scene 2 ­ Juliet is waiting for Romeo see her, the nurse arrives with the news that
Romeo has killed Tybalt. Juliet mormons the loss of her cousin that Romeo killed and verbally attacks him, but then feels terrible and griefs for Romeo being banished. The nurse tells Juliet that she promises to bring the two of them together that night. Act 3 Scene 3 ­ Friar Lawrence told Romeo that he was leaving Verona as punishment for killing Tybalt. Romeo says that dying would be better than leaving Juliet. Soon after, the nurse coming and tells Romeo that Juliet is heart­broken and Romeo tries to kill himself. Friar
Lawrence then tells Romeo that he can spend one night with Juliet and leave for Mantua in the morning. The Friar also promises to send word of news and that he can expect the Prince to change his mind. Act 3 Scene 4 ­ Paris tries again and asks Capulet if he could marry Juliet. Capulet says that
Juliet will do as told and promises Paris that he will marry her in three days . Act 3 Scene 5 ­ Romeo leaves Juliet at the first sign of day, after Romeo leaves Juliet's mother comes into her room and announces to her that she will marry Paris.
