According to Dr. Maris from work he had done on
Suicide he explains suicide as “Suicide is a multidimensional concomitant of psychiatric diagnoses, especially mood disorders, and is complex in both its causation and in the treatment of those at risk” (Maris, 2002). He also states that the most common reason for suicide is having less serotonin in the brain (Maris, 2002).
With Dr. Maris being the operator of a suicide center then the choices in alternate care is a good
Idea, such as art therapy, dance therapy and music therapy. This being said with it being a suicide center Dr. Maris could set of these programs so that the patients could try different activities that they like so in turn it makes them choose something that inspires them rather than wanting to take their own life.
