I am writing this letter to convince you to nominate Ronald Reagan as the “Person of the Decade”. Reagan entered the role as a president during a hard economic time in the United States, but he took it in stride and made many things better for the American people. With the somewhat failed presidency of Jimmy Carter before him, Reagan convinced people to vote for him by doing things such as asking them if they were better now than they were four years ago, which the answer was, of course, no.
