Room to Read is a Non-Profit organization that focuses on literacy to all genders in developing countries. They want to ensure that all children obtain life skills in order to succeed in school and beyond. The Room to Read organization partners with several resources to secure financials from investors, communities and other stakeholders. In addition, they monitor their finances by ensuring that they are producing the expected outcome for the children and achieving the percentage of success their resources would expect. The Room to read organization invests time and energy into their data and the data they are collecting and monitoring. They have a comprehensive assessment for their students and obtain feedback from resources and communities to ensure they have the correct strategy and approach. Furthermore, their partnership with the community offices is key to ensuring they have the appropriate interpretation of the data and it is presented in a meaningful way. By securing their data, they are able to leverage by-in and from other countries and influence the importance of engaging in their program. Although, Sri Lanka is known for its high reading scores there are still rural schools that are at a disadvantage and not receiving the same opportunities (Room to read). Kumbukwewa is one of those rural communities that lack access to the tools they need. The Room to Read non-profit organization is a friend.
