Leaders of the black community organized a bus boycott that began the day that she was convicted of violating the segregation laws. The boycott went on for more that a year, which caused Rosa to lose her job. Eventually the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that segregation on buses was unconstitutional. Rosa Parks was a private citizen who was “tired of giving in” in later years she was honored for her act of courage, but she suffered for her act; she was fired from her job as a seamstress, and received death threats for years, but her situation open many doors for the civil right movement. Rosa moved to Detroit and worked as a secretary for an African American U.S. Representative. Years later Rosa became known as the “Mother of the civil rights Movement”. Rosa is a true American hero who the fact that she stood up for her rights. She felt that blacks where no different than whites and everyone should be treated equal. She lost a lot in standing up, her job, her security, she received death threats regularly. Rosa sacrificed so much, but in the end she did so much to change to world and make it a better place for so many Americas.
