Who do you think of when there is a name that starts with “rose?” Rosemary Sadlier was born in Toronto in 1977. She has a teaching degree and does social work. Her father's family roots can be traced back to New Brunswick, 1790, and her mother's can be traced back to the 1840’s. Some of her accomplishments include emancipation day, being president of the Ontario Black History Society (from 1993 to 2015), and National Black History Month. Rosemary Sadlier is 47 years old now. And I will tell you why and how Rosemary Sadlier is social, determined, and helpful.

I think social means connecting with people and communicating with them. An example of being social is coming to a new school, communicating with people, and making friends. I think that is social because you are meeting new people you don’t know, and you are already making friends with them! Rosemary was social when she was teaching. She taught many kids in schools about black history and has a teaching degree. She has also spoken out internationally about black history, anti-racism, and women's issues.

I think being determined means being very sure about completing something. For example, she was very sure of completing her math homework. It is good to be determined, but if you're too determined, you might miss something and make a mistake.
