Rosie The Riveter Research Paper

For a long time, women did not have the same rights of work, study, and freedom of expression as men. However, many women were fighting to get the rights and equality as men. In 1941 the United States of America was attacked by the Japanese Empire in Pearl Harbor, so the United States entered to war after the attacked. Approximately one year later, the propaganda of Rosie the Riveter was show to grab the attention of all women. This announcement had a big message to the women during the world war two. Rosie the Riveter during the WWII could have many similarities and differences than the group of Rosie the Riveters of the 21st century. The original Rosie the Riveter has many similarities to the new group of Rosie the Riveters of 21st century. For instance, the new group has a purpose for all the races around the world; such as, the African-American, Latinas, Asians, and more, this new group has a message that needs to be announce for all women to want a big change of equality. Moreover, it is showing that more than one race can have more opportunities to success in the equality. Nowadays, there are more diversity of ethnics in the country and countries. History.com. A&E Television Networks, 2010 argues that “American women entered the workforce in unprecedented numbers during World War II, as widespread male enlistment left gaping holes in the industrial labor force…” This quote shows that women during the WWII only had their opportunities during that time, and only White American women had more opportunities to success.
