Compare And Contrast Amir And Hassan

In the book The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, Amir and Hassan have similarities and differences in appearance, social class, and personality. Although the two boys Amir and Hassan grew up together, each of them grew up with different lifestyles. Amir grew up a wealthy boy. He got to go to school because his Baba had money. His Baba was a very successful man and because of that Amir got to live his childhood in “what some thought it was the prettiest house in all of Kabul” (Amir pg.4) Hassan on the other hand grew up as a poor boy and was not granted an education like Amir, but he was smart in his own way. Although Hassan grew up around Amir, he was not as lucky as Amir and his father as Hassan and his dad were only servants to Amir and Baba and had to live in a hut. Usually when you grow up with someone your whole childhood, you and that person would have the same personality. Amir and Hassan took their first steps together, even spoke their first words together, but they did not have the same personality what so ever. Even though Amir grew up as a child who got everything, he was still a pretty selfish. He would always want his Baba to himself and whenever Baba showed more interest towards Hassan, Amir would get very jealous. Whenever he would want to have his Baba all to himself and his Baba would want Hassan to come along with them, he “lied and told him
