The Brass Band Festival schedule not only includes music from the best musicians brass band music has to offer, but also opportunities to practice healthy living while enjoying the festivities! The Run, Ride, Relax series consists of three parts: Run For The Brass, Yoga in The Park, and Bike Through the Bluegrass.

Run For the Brass begins at 7:00 am on Saturday June 3rd at Millennium Park in Danville. The Run For the Brass is an annual 5K race through the gentle rolling landscape of Danville on a paved path starting off Highway 150 at the entrance next to the Centenary United Methodist Church’s Christian Life Center.

Awards will be presented to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers. In addition, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes in each age group will be awarded.

Registration will be at the race from 7:00 to 7:45 am, and the race will officially begin shortly after at 8:00 am. All those who register by May 19th will receive a free Run For The Brass hat!

To start Brass Band Sunday another exciting event the festival has to offer is the Bike Through The Bluegrass. The short bike ride will last ten to twenty minutes. Riders will be taking a ride through gorgeous scenery over the Bluegrass Pike towards Harrodsburg.

Owner of Danville Bike and Footwear, Ernst Crown-Weber, will be leading the group. The ride will be finished by 9am.

The ride will be joined by special guests The Kentucky Wheelman who have grown to become regulars of the Sunday bike ride and Brass Band Festival. The Wheelman are an international group formed to keep the heritage of American cycling alive. The group has immense pride in their restoring and riding of early cycles and promotion of cycling as an element of modern living.
