“Technology can be our best friend, and technology can also be the biggest party pooper of our lives. It interrupts our own story, interrupts our ability to have a thought or a daydream, to imagine something wonderful, because we're too busy bridging the walk from the cafeteria back to the office on the cell phone”(Spielberg). Have you ever been in a conversation where the other person is constantly checking their phone or scrolling through instagram or snapchatting people? That is exactly what i am talking about. If you are the person doing that in a conversation, the other person might feel as if you don’t care what they are talking to you about.

Also, some people may have FOMO (fear of missing out) and they might see pictures and videos of people on social media hanging out and having fun. some people will start to feel lonely or as if they have no friends. “In today's society, most of this contact occurs via a television screen, a computer monitor or a cell phone”(“Does Technology Make You Lonely?”). this means that people around the world are spending more time with their technology than the people around them so they might think that no one likes them and no one wants to be their friend just by seeing pictures and posts of them missing
