They are always open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. This allows people to shop anywhere, anytime and reach people globally at a much faster rate (Smith, 2011). When people are able to shop anytime they want they are able to research products availability and compare prices at their own convenience; making them more susceptible to a purchase.

3. The cost is next to nothing. Marketing online is far less expensive than marketing through billboards or magazines. The cost to reach a larger demographic is far less and the money that a company is able to save on marketing allows them to place in it in other areas where the company might need it.

4. The last biggest advantage is being to measure the statistics of marketing. Things that companies are able to track include tracking numbers, length and frequency of website visits, and which pages are being viewed and for how long (Ciprian, 2010). This is useful in designing a marketing website and for testing strategies that could encourage customer growth. The greater the growth the more profitable a company can become.

Disadvantages of Online Marketing

To every upside there is always a downside. There are many disadvantages to online market for retail as there are advantages that clients need to consider. Do not let the disadvantages be discouraging because knowing and understanding how to prevent them will just make a company’s online marketing methods stronger. Below
