Defining a sacred place has long been a question that has taken on several answers. The sacred place presented in this paper is a sacred place that takes one down a different path. Sacred places have many characteristics. While there are some similar characteristics all might not be explained in the same way. A similarity that all have is a axis mundi. A axis mundi is a center of the world. Everything revolves around this point, and also the world is dependent upon this center to some extent. Sacred places call out to people. If one does not receive a calling, a person can simply walk through it. As they can not see it, they will never have a chance to actually see it, or appreciate what it has to offer. To these people a landscape is simply a landscape, a building is simply a building. If the sacredness is revealed, a person leaves a profane experience, and will almost experience something magical. Mount de Chantal Visitation Academy was a sacred place that not everyone was called to experience. It was a a broad group of people from all over the world. Nobody had the same background, but every one heard the calling of this sacred place. It was a place to grow, and connect with women of past generations. It is not easily defined for those who did not hear the calling. It was an experience that transformed many. It was a chance to experience growth, development, and transformation. Most people only get to visit a sacred place once. Those who attended the Mount were granted with the privilege of experiencing it for several years. A sense of mystery will now surround the site. A mystery of what made it sacred, and so special. No one will ever experience it. They will just hear the stories from people lucky enough to hear the calling. It will be a sad day, when no one will remember what a sacred place the Academy
