Throughout the play, Cyrano continuously reassures himself that he will one day be able to profess his love to Roxane. Since Christian already holds the heart of Roxane (through the help of Cyrano himself), Cyrano faces a choice. He must forfeit his love for her, or convince Roxane that he is the one she is in love with. His decision to let her be with Christian, who she believes is her true love, is a decision that will change Cyranos life throughout the rest of the play. By making such a sacrifice, Cyrano shows Roxanne a complete act of true love. Cyrano assists Christian in seducing Roxanne, despite being completely in love with her himself.Various acts of love further define Cyrano's character and proves that he is so in love with Roxanne
