Saint Teresa Essay

It was August 12, 1910, when a blessed Saint was born. It was Saint Teresa. Throughout her life she had suffering and pain. Even though she had this pain she still worked through it and helped people. When she was younger she felt a strong calling to god. Saint Teresa was a kind loving person, who helped others. Saint Teresa’s family lived in Skopje, Macedonia. Her real name was Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu. She had one brother and one sister. Her mom Nikcola and her dad Dranafile were both grocers and they all had a confortable life. Then when she was nine years old her father died. They all were sad but she continued her schooling at a public school in Skopje. Then at the age of twelve she became interested in helping the poor. That is what lead her to India to fulfill her vocation. So many things inspired her. She had such grace to not give up on school when her father died. She did not have the easiet life but she mad the best of it. “I see somebody dying, I pick him up. I find somebody hungry, I give him food. He can love and be loved. I don’t look at his color, I don’t look at his religion. I don’t look at anything. Every person whether he is Hindu, Muslim or Buddhist, he is my brother, my sister.” She said this during an interview in 1955.
