Sappho’s theory of erotic love is that love can be unforeseeable and sore but the ardor of love can overcome all of that pain.
In the poem where Sappho say’s “Rejoice, go and remember me” shows that Sappho is in pain of losing love of her life but she tells her lover to go on in life and celebrate but don’t forget her, or either not to forget what they have done together, the whole time they have spent together and lived and enjoyed.
This also clearly shows that the desire of love can overcome any pain or unpredictable moment of life. Memories of your love can overcome the pain that you get. Sappho believes that the moment itself is what matters and what we do in love is not for making memories but you can live through those memories.
