Sarcasm: A Fictional Narrative

Sarcasm, jokes, and stories are exchanged; laughs echo inside the circumference of our circle. Every day, my friends and I take our 30 minute lunch break to enjoy, relax, and eat, before returning to our regularly scheduled school day. One day, I noticed a school janitor stacking chairs all by himself. Looking around, I could see about 300 other chairs spread about.
“Where are all the other janitors? Don’t they usually clean the lunchroom too?”
“Budget cuts. It’s just me now.”
I guessed there were 40 tables that had to be wiped down and folded up. There were also a few hundred chairs that had to be stacked, and an entire floor that had to be wiped down.
“Would you like some help?”
“Sure. You can help stack chairs.”
