Approximately ten percent of patients with schizophrenia commit suicide,higher rate than general population.In the story “Silver Water” by Amy Bloom a lady named Violet explains how her sister deals with schizophrenia. In the story the family struggles with the improvement of Rose’s mental state. There are times when Rose seems to be getting better ,but then something happens and she is not in her normal state anymore.Soon roses hits a point of no return and it takes a dramatic impact on the family.The obstacles and the challenges made things strenuous to deal with,also it made moral choices difficult to manage. In “Silver Water” the author shows how families are impacted when a family member is diagnosed with schizophrenia

When you have to put them first because you never know what could happen to them with this illness.In the next scene Violet comes home after not coming home for a week because her mom wants her to live a normal life and starts to help her dad garden in the backyard.The father then brings up the convosation about Roses and Violets mother and her health. Her father says “We have twenty-seven days left,your mother gets no sleep because Rose does not sleep,and if I could pay seven thousand dollars to keep her in a hospital until the insurance takes over, I’d do it.” This scene clearly highlights the health risk that Rose's mother is going through just to care for her ill daughter. This retell phrase shows how much her mother cares not to go to sleep on her daughter and stay awake even though she is extremely exhausted from constantly watching Rose. When you lack sleep your body suffers for it. Lack of sleep in a person can cause ,weight gain, sickness, and an increase rate of having a stroke.When a person has lack of sleep the body to be put at different types of health risk.A person who cares so much for their daughter will put their well-being at risk for the person that they
