The value of education is something that I understand since a very young age. Neither of my parents had an opportunity to attend college and faced many struggles in their personal lives because of this. They have always told me that in order for me to get my goal I have to sacrifice and work hard to get what I want for myself a better future. “Follow your passion, be prepared to work hard, and, sacrifice and above all don’t let anyone or anything limit your dreams” says Donovan Bailey. This teaches me to always work hard to achieve what I want and to be successful in my future I have to sacrifice.
Therefore to achieve my goal of becoming a nurse I have to go to college and work on getting my bachelors degree and then transfer to a 4 year institution such as, Cal State San Marcos. My family has made many sacrifices to allow me to focus on education throughout primary and secondary school. I now have the opportunity to become the first person in my family to attend college, though I’m in need of financial assistance to realize what has been a long term goal for me and a dream for my parents.
As a student and a daughter I have to sacrifice myself to get where I want in my future. I’m a caregiver for my nephew Noah who has an inflammatory disease in the liver. I work part time taking care of him as a caregiver. Noah has motivated me in so many things and one of those is to work hard to achieve my goal so I can help people such as him.
