When grabbing the bow off a rack, whether it involves being at school or 4-H, learning the same basic foundation that relates to both types of archery will take place. Each one has its own special way of how it should work and the way to get the best outcome. Shooting for school archery and 4-H archery have many similarities, but everyone should be aware of the differences in the ranges they shoot, bows that are allowed, and the competitions one may encounter being involved in the sport or hobby. One of the first ways that the two are different could be shown in the shooting ranges. In school archery, the ranges are two set distances. These distances in school never change at any level competitions are at. However, 4-H archery changes the range based on the level of competition. At each level of competition, a given set of ranges, just for that event, are designated for the archers. As progression is shown throughout the day and competition changes so does the ranges at which one might shoot. Another difference between school and 4-H archery are the bows that are used.
