Christian Science

The founder of the Christian Science belief is Mary Eddy Baker. They seem to believe that she is one of the most prominent individuals of her day. Toward the end of her life, Human Life magazine described her as “the most famous, interesting and powerful woman in America, if not in the world, today.” Christian Science is explained as the science of Christianity. The practical application of Christian ideas to daily life. It's both a religious teaching and a system of healing founded on the Bible's universal truths one infinite God who is all-powerful and all-good, and the tender, compassionate love of Christ to heal and restore mind and body to health and wholeness. From my understanding, Christian Sceintist basically believes that God was just a really good person and that everyone is God. These beliefs ocme from Mary Baker Eddy. She gat these beliefs when she was walking and slipt and hit her head on ice. According to her, this gave her a revaltion of what is right and wrong in the Bible. She took the liberty to pick and choose what to believe out of the Bible, for instance, Christisan Scientist believe that the body is in face not a body and that all people are made up of spirit and that the body is just something that is made up of all the sin that man has commited. They believe that Marry Eddy Bakers book “ Science and Health” with Key to the Scriptures explains fully and directly the spiritual teaching of the Bible, and reveals the divine Science that , when practiced, brings health and harmony to all aspects of our lives. Christian Scientists study daily the Bible and Science and Health. An important part of this study is a weekly Lesson outlined in The Christian Science Quarterly, which includes excerpts on certain subjects from the Bible and Science and Health. The lesson-studied daily comprises the sermon that is read at each Sunday church service worldwide. The Bible and “Science and Health”
