Scott Joplin was the second out of six children. Born on November 24,1868 in Northeast Texas. His father was a slave and his mother was a free women. Scott Joplin taught himself to play piano, but he also got help from a german music teacher. Scott Joplin wanted to perform in front of people and he saw that there church needed someone to play piano during mass. That is
