In my opinion Adams viewpoint on many corporation careers is the boss often thinks that his ideas are better and will be more successful than his employees or everyone underneath him. The majority of his cartoons display the boss talking down to the employees and hushing their ideas even if they are better than his own. The bosses ideas always seem to lack intelligence and sound irrelevant to the topic they are discussing. His view on the employees in the corporation all tend to be slightly negative and convey that many of the workers will do what is popular rather than what is right, and they do not think for themselves. The group of comic strips that talk about the new work uniforms accurately display both of my opinions, the boss acts like the uniforms will make his workers more successful and the workers believe it will too. Scott Adams used his previous knowledge from obtaining his bachelors degree and M.B.A to help support his ideas behind Dilbert. Adams also used previous job experiences and popular opinion of the people to gain support behind his cartoons. I believe Dilbert was an unusual risk Adams took that most people would not in fear of failing. Scott Adams had the proper and intelligent idea behind his marketing plan which does follow an entrepreneur outline in some ways, but he added his own twist to the tips and techniques. His ability to understand the target group of people to be successful was thinking simply which most people do not do. He knew you had to target the employees instead of the bosses and he later found out that the employees were more drawn to the cartoons where the boss was clueless and the workers knew more.
