In some situations, people take things from others in order to gain more for themselves. In history, groups and empire would conquer each other so they could benefit from those conquered. During the Scramble for Africa, The Russian Revolution, and aggressive European invasions, power and personal gains motivated groups to conquer other lands and people. The Scramble for Africa is a prime example of an empire conquering another for personal gains. The proletariat wanted a equal distribution of power, "The immediate aim of Communism is the same as that of all the other proletariat parties: formation of the proletariat into a class, overthrow of the bourgeoisie supremacy," (The Communist Manifesto, paragraph 6). This is important because it shows that power can be made equal, and still be beneficial. The proletariat wanted equally distributed power, not all of it. This is important because it shows that personal gains are extremely important to a group of people.
