In A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens the last spirit changes him the most. This chapter has an eerie setting which perfectly illustrates the big message being: If you don’t change then you will die.

The first example is when the spirit takes scrooge to the street. Scrooge sees a couple of men talking about him and his death. All they talk about is his greed and how he was never nice. They called him old scratch. At this point Scrooge is in denial of his death. When Scrooge hears the men then he realizes that if you are an old grump then people will remember you as one.
