Previous research studies found that African Americans identified the white race, as superior to their own. Despite negative stereotypes that have influenced the perception of African Americans, researchers have revealed that their advancement and education have heightened their self-esteem compared to other races. In this study, 24 African and White Americans from several universities around the United States will have their self-esteem measured and that of the opposing race. Thus, the Rosenberg self-esteem scale will be administered, so half of the participants will answer first about themselves and the other half will answer first about the opposing group.
