Upon reading Matthew 5-7, people seem to have varying different views and opinions on what they receive from it. Some view the infamous Sermon on the Mount as a set of rules and regulations that are unattainable and could never be kept. Others view this passage as something sacred, comforting, and words to strive to live by and for. Personally, the Sermon on the Mount has impacted me in multiple ways by stretching me to grow in my understanding of God and His Word, encouraging me to use wise and discerning judgement about my lifestyle and everyday choices, and empowering me to live worthy of the life that God has called me to. One thing that I think is special about this passage of scripture, is the fact that it truly covers so many different aspects of life. I honestly feel as if the Sermon on the Mount could be viewed as a modern day handbook for life. In modern day terms, I truly believe that Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount is a guide to spiritually adulting. Personally, I believe that Jesus view on spiritual maturity is simple; it is a journey and a destination all in one! I can prove this to you, simply by digging deeper into Matthew 5-7 and focusing on the different factors that attributed to His Sermon on the Mount and how it affects us even today.
Honestly, I love the fact that Jesus begins this passage of scripture by encouraging and empowering the crowds through the beatitudes. I believe that this was something that definitely resonated with the audience, because no matter what their social status, skin color, or background, they could all relate to the brokenness that is

Instead, everything mentioned within the Sermon on the Mount can truly only happen in a person’s life by the undeniable work of the Holy Spirit in their lives. Nothing mentioned in this passage can be attained and obvious except by through an encounter with the One true
