Seven Devils Monologue

Rain poured down the streets of this city, the Seven Devils, I know, what a name for a place. Things have been quiet around the area, in fact, things are going good for the city. Crime is going down, there is a greater investment in education, small shops are prospering, and joy has filled everyone’s hearts, yet I still have that feeling that something is coming. Something from the darkness, coming down to the Seven Devils only to burn down everything I’ve ever stood for. It hasn’t rained here in over sixteen years and of all the days it could have rained, God chooses this one. Today may just as well be a normal Thursday to most people, but it is far from that. I suppose the signs were clear to me, reports have been flooding in about a two-headed cub roaming the city zoo. Cars have been spinning out of control and falling into the harbor for the past few days. There was carnival just yesterday and the weather was perfect for all families, yet hardly anyone came to it. The streets have also been slowly clearing up, meaning as each day passes, less and less people go outside.
