Section one of the seven habits profile is about my Emotional Bank Account. Showing kindness to others, honoring commitments and promises, and eliminating gossip are great traits of a leader. That was easy for me, I was raised to treat others how I like to be treated so it’s second nature. However, in order to work as an efficient team we need to treat each other kindly as well. Of course I honor commitments and keep promises. Along the lines of question one I feel it to be disrespectful to be a flake. I wouldn’t want others to flake on me so being reliable is important ethically and helps the business function better. In order for me to keep myself in check and not gossip around those that aren’t around I must have some Self-Awareness about how it makes me feel. Likewise, Social Awareness and Relationship Management is relevant to show kindness to others.
SECTION 2 This category asks questions about Life Balance. This category investigates my ability to maintain a good work-life balance and whether or not I have the thought of others on my mind. I scored the lowest on this topic and that doesn’t surprise me. I have four kids at home, a wife in a Master’s program, myself in a Master’s program, two dogs, and a chronic illness to treat on a daily basis. My life is crazy and chaotic every day and frequently need to leave work for family or lack focus due to stress. I do, though, think of others needs most of the time and this help me keep my team moving forward.

To be efficient and successful I must flow through a project with a solid plan the whole time. I do know what I want to do in life. I enjoy my career, family, and hobbies and intend to keep improving each area one day at a time. I am a very organized individual and rarely have to panic and stress about things at work. However, I’m powerless over organizing things at home. As far as planning the week goes, I do well at work knowing what’s next but need serious improvement at home.
SECTION 6 Section 6 asks questions regarding if I think positive and work well with the team. Do I care about my team succeeding and cooperate with them? Do I look for solutions to the team or myself? My success only goes as far as the teams does. Everyone counts and if anyone is failing than this affects the whole team. Cooperation is essential for success and wouldn’t exist if the focus wasn’t on solving team problems rather than individual problems. I may have to handle business out of town while needs still need to be met at home. Our team works well enough for others to cover my back and vice versa.
