Life is very difficult, and it is more troubling when people are constantly twisting words and interpreting what people are saying. In this current generation, people are finding it humiliating to stand behind certain values, because if they do they are ostracized and made fun of. In most situations people get offended because these values people hold are different and people are sensitive. This generation is going down the wrong path, and because of that may lead to large problems. I walk down the hallway at Grand Rapids Community College and I see a man, or wait a woman, I do not know. I need to ask her a question from a class, I assume for all purposes that saying the word dude, would be gender neutral enough, so I hesitantly ask, “Hey dude, do you know what our homework was for Math?” I get a cold glare coming from her but I do not understand why. …show more content…
I am a girl for your information.” I’m completely dumb founded. I got yelled, no, screamed at because someone I presumed a guy from their actions and appearance, was not. I fully understand that people are going to be whom they are, but I should be able to assume and not get a cold glare.
