4. “Setting the stage“ for the interview is getting to know more about the child; what is his or her name, age, grade in schools etc. getting the child to become comfortable is a great way of beginning.
5. The types of questions that should be used are “who lives at your house?” “What do you do with that person?” “What happens when you are with this person?” Details of the abuse should be asked. Dolls are a type of media that is used with most interviews with children because it help the child identify body parts and is helpful when going back to ask the child about the sexual abuse that may have occurred.
