Beauty pageants have been held around the world since the 19th century. Pageants obviously highlight people’s talents and good looks. There are many positives about beauty pageants. They make people feel good about themselves and can significantly boost someone’s confidence. As they may have lots of positives, they can also significantly bring down a person’s confidence and make them feel insecure. Pageants are fun for adults and teens, but putting children in them is a completely different situation. They can make children depressed, over sexualized, and can take away their childhood.
Putting children in pageants can cause children to become depressed. In pageants, there is only one winner out of all of the participants.
