Visual Analysis on Galaxy S 3 Advertisement
In today’s world there is a lot more competition amongst the Smartphone companies then it use to be before. The first Smartphone I phone introduced by Apple was a huge success. But the recent add published in Houston Chronicle about the new Samsung Galaxy S 3 has changed people’s view on buying I phone 5. This ad appeared in all local newspapers across the United States in the month of June 2012. Samsung Galaxy S 3 advertisement was created by Samsung Advertisement Agency. Samsung has its own advertisement agency which works to create ads to promote Samsung electronic products. This agency I think did a fantastic job of advertising Galaxy S 3. It did all possible things to beat I phone 5. The color combination, bold lettering slogan, home screen wall paper, white border body on Samsung Galaxy S 3 grabbed my attention.
Another thing which is great about this advertisement is that it compares its competitor’s phone on one side. It gives all details about the 2 phones side by side which I guess is the biggest advantage for the audience to chose which phone has the best features. The first thing which I noticed about this advertisement is their interesting bold lettering slogan saying “ It doesn’t take a genius” and “The Next Big Thing Is Already Here”.
The founder of this advertisement is trying to convey its customers that Samsung Is ready with its new great quality Smart Phone Samsung Galaxy S 3. The viewers eye is initially drawn to the center portion of the ad where Galaxy S 3 is compared with I phone 5. The founder of this add did a great job by displaying white Samsung phone in comparison with black I phone. The white phone looks really attractive and modern. The other thing to be notice about this ad is the long list of Galaxy S 3 features in comparison to I phone 5. This indirectly conveys the viewers that Galaxy S 3 has some new extra features in it. This ad has a dark purple back ground color which is very contrasting and eye catching. All of these visual effects make the phone appear more valuable to the audience of the advertisement. By giving lot of details about it features it tells the customers about the quality and how this phone is different from other Smart Phones. The two slogans are used to make Samsung sound more appealing to the viewers. By placing the phones in a slant position and writing details between in the centre makes it easy to read all the features. The creator of this add has purposely turned the Samsung Galaxy screen on where as he kept I phone 5 screen turned off. This was the smart move to make Galaxy S 3 to look better on ad’s.
Marketing or advertising, we need to create information that our customers find interesting and worth talking about and remembering. This advertisement certainly achieves this goal. Keeping in mind that one point does not fit all. It starts with knowing your target market. Here the target market are the next generation and are featured prominently in this ad.
Samsung made comparisons to its competitors phone. Galaxy certainly knows who its major competitor is and takes him head on as it strategy. People watch advertisement which interest them. The slogan displayed in this advertisement certainly grabs and hold attention.
The slogan saying “ The Next Big Thing Is Here” actually means that Samsung is ready with its new smart phone which is better than Iphone 5 and other smart phones. This slogan tells a lot about the phone. It actually means that Samsung is ready with a phone which has all new features and specifications. The advertisement itself speaks that Samsung Galaxy S 3 is a much better device then I phone 5 because of the details given in the advertisement about the two phones. Samsung truly discriminates Apple from its competition. It gives customers reasons to select Galaxy S 3.
